Making Dua in Right of Muhammad wa aley Muhammad

Here are some Mo'tabar ahadeeth from our Aimmah, which allow us to make Dua to Allah by giving  rights of Muhammad wa aley Muhammad.


Hadeeth #1

القطب الراوندي في قصص الانبياء: باسناده إلى الصدوق، عن ابيه، عن سعد بن عبد الله عن أحمد، بن محمد عن الحسن بن علي الخزاز، عن عبد الله بن سنان، عن أبي عبد الله عليه السلام قال: قال آدم صلوات الله عليه: يا رب بحق محمد وعلى وفاطمة والحسن والحسين الا تبت على، فأوحى الله تعالى إليه: يا آدم وما علمك بمحمد؟ فقال: حين خلقتني رفعت رأسي، فرأيت في العرش مكتوبا: محمد رسول الله على أمير المؤمنين 

From Abd Allah bin Sinan from Abi Abd Allah (عليه السلام) said:  “Adam (عليه السلام)said: ‘O Lord, by the right of Muhammad, Ali, Fatimah, al-Hasan, and al-Hussain, forgive me.’ So Allah revealed to him (عليه السلام): ‘O Adam, and what do you know about Muhammad?’ So he (عليه السلام) said: ‘When I was created, I raise my head and I saw on the arsh (throne) written – Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, Ali Amir al-Muminin’”

Hadeeth #2

 قال: حدثني أبو جعفر محمد بن علي بن الحسين قال: حدثني أبي قال: حدثني محمد بن يحيى العطار قال: حدثنا محمد بن أحمد بن يحيى، عن الحسن بن علي الكوفي، عن العباس بن عامر القصباني، عن أحمد بن رزق الغمشاني، عن يحيى ابن أبي العلاء، عن جابر، عن أبي جعفر محمد بن علي بن الحسين، عن أبيه، عن جده عليهم السلام قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم: إنه إذا كان يوم القيامة، وسكن أهل الجنة الجنة، وأهل النار النار، مكث عبد في النار سبعين خريفا والخريف سبعون سنة، ثم إنه يسأل الله عز وجل ويناديه فيقول: يا رب أسألك بحق محمد وأهل بيته لما رحمتني. فيوحي الله جل جلاله إلى جبرئيل عليه السلام [أن] اهبط إلى عبدي فأخرجه، فيقول جبرئيل: وكيف لي بالهبوط في النار؟ فيقول الله تبارك وتعالى: إنه قد أمرتها أن تكون عليك بردا وسلاما. قال: فيقول: يا رب فما علمي بموضعه؟ فيقول: إنه في جب من سجين. فيهبط جبرئيل عليه السلام إلى النار فيجده معقولا على وجهه فيخرجه.

فيقف بين يدي الله عز وجل، فيقول الله تعالى: يا عبدي كم لبثت في النار تناشدني؟ فيقول: يا رب ما أحصيته. فيقول الله عز وجل له: أما وعزتي وجلالي لولا ما (١) سألتني بحقهم عندي لأطلت هوانك في النار، ولكنه حتم على نفسي أن لا يسألني (٢) عبد بحق محمد وأهل بيته إلا غفرت له ما كان بيني وبينه (٣)، وقد غفرت لك اليوم، ثم يؤمر به إلى الجنة

He said: Abu Ja'far Muhammad b. Ali b. al-Husain reported from his father, who reported from Muhammad b. Yahya al-Attar, who reported from Muhammad b.Ahmad b. Yahya, from al-Hasan b. Ali al-Kufi, from al-Abbas b. Amir al-Qasbani, from Ahmad b. Rizq al-Ghamshani, from Yahya b. Abul Ala', from Jabir, from Abu Ja'far Muhammad b. Ali b. al-Husain, from his father, from his  grandfather (عليه السلام), who said:

The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), said: "On the Day of Judgement, when the People of Paradise will have settled in their blissful gardens and the people of hell will be in the fire, there will be one who spent seventy autumns in the fire, each autumn is equal to seventy years; then he will beseech Allah, Most High, imploring: "O my Sustainer, I ask you in the name of Muhammad and the inmates of his house to have mercy on me." Then Allah, Most Mighty, will command Jibraeel  (عليه السلام): "Descend to my servant and release him." Jibraeel would say: "How can I descend into hellfire?" Allah, Most Benevolent, would say: "We have commanded the fire to be cold and safe for you." He (Jibraeel) would say: "O my Sustainer! How do I know where he is located?" Allah would say: "He is in the pit of Sijjin." Then Jibraeel would descend into the fire, find him shackled onto his face, so he will get him out. There he (the servant) stands in the presence of Allah, Most High; then Allah

addresses him: "O My servant, for how long have you been in fire, entreating Me thus?" He would say: "I have no count." Allah, Most High, would say: "By My Honour, had you not beseeched in the name of those, who have a status in My estimation, you would have stayed there in a prolonged humiliation. But, I have ordained for Myself that no one asks me in the name of Muhammad and the inmates of his household, except that I forgive him all that is between Me and him. So, I have pardoned you today." Then Allah will command for him to be taken to the Paradise.

Hadeeth #3

 حدثني محمد بن الحسن قال حدثني محمد بن الحسن الصفار عن الحسن ابن علي عن العباس بن عامر عن أحمد بن رزق الله عن يحيى بن العلاء عن جابر عن أبي جعفر عليه السلام قال: ان عبدا مكث في النار سبعين خريفا والخريف سبعون سنة قال ثم إنه سأل الله بحق محمد وأهل بيته لما رحمتني فأوحى الله عز وجل إلى جبرئيل أن أهبط إلى عبدي وأخرجه. قال يا رب كيف لي بالهبوط في النار؟ قال عز وجل اني أمرتها أن تكون عليك بردا وسلاما، قال يا رب فأعلمني بموضعه قال إنه في جب في سجيل قال فهبط جبرئيل على النار على وجهه فأخرجه فقال الله عز وجل يا عبدي كم لبثت في النار؟ قال ما أحصي يا رب فقال وعزتي لولا ما سألتني به لأطلت هوانك في النار ولكني حتمت على نفسي ألا يسألني عبد بحق محمد وأهل بيته إلا غفرت له ما كان بيني وبينه وقد غفرت لك اليوم.

(The compiler of the book narrated) that his father - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Attar quoted Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Yahya, on the authority of Al-Hassan ibn Ali al-Kufy, on the authority of Al-Abbas ibn Amer, on the authority of Ahmad ibn Rezq, on the authority of Yahya ibn Abil-Ala’, on the authority of Jabir that Abi Ja’far al-Baqir  (عليه السلام) said:

“A servant of God will stay in the Fire for seventy lifetimes - each lifetime being seventy years. Then he will call out to the Honorable the Exalted God by Muhammad and his Holy Household to have mercy upon Him. Then the Honorable the Exalted God would reveal to Gabriel to go to His servant and take him out (of Hell). Then Gabriel would ask, ‘O my Lord! How can I descend into Hell?’ God would say, ‘I shall make the fire cool and (a means of) safety for you.’ Gabriel would ask, ‘O my Lord! I do not know where he is?’ God would say, ‘He is imprisoned in a pit.’ Gabriel would cover up his face, descend into Hell and pull him out.

Then the Honorable the Exalted God would say, ‘O My servant! For how long did you stay in the stay in the Fire and call out to me?’ The servant would say, ‘O my Lord! You know best.’ God would say, ‘I swear by My Majesty that I would forgive all the sins of my servants who call me by Muhammad and his Holy Household to have mercy upon them - all that only they themselves and I know about. And I forgive your sins today.’

Hadeeth #4

 عنه، عن أحمد بن محمد، عن عبد العزيز بن المهتدي، عن يونس بن عبد الرحمن، عن داود بن زربي قال: مرضت بالمدينة مرضا شديدا فبلغ ذلك أبا عبد الله (عليه السلام) فكتب إلي: قد بلغني علتك فاشتر صاعا من بر ثم استلق على قفاك (4) وانثره على صدرك كيفما انتثر وقل: " اللهم إني أسألك باسمك الذي إذا سألك به المضطر كشفت ما به من ضر ومكنت له في الأرض وجعلته خليفتك على خلقك أن تصلي على محمد وعلى أهل بيته وأن تعافيني من علتي " ثم استو جالسا واجمع البر من حولك وقل مثل ذلك وأقسمه مدا مدا لكل مسكين وقل مثل ذلك، قال داود: ففعلت مثل ذلك فكأنما نشطت من عقال (1) وقد فعله غير واحد فانتفع به.

Ahmad ibn Muhammad has narrated from ‘Abd al-‘Aziz ibn al-Muhtadi from Yunus ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman from Dawud ibn Razin who has said the following:

“I fell severely ill in Madiana and abu ‘Abd Allah (عليه السلام), had found out about it. He wrote to me, ‘Your ailment has come to our notice and you should buy one Sa'a (about 3 kg) of wheat, lie down on your back, pour it on your chest, as is done and say, “O Lord, I plead before You through Your name with which when a helpless person pleads before You, You remove his hardship, establish him on earth, and appoint him as Your deputy among Your creatures, bestow al-Salat (favors) upon Muhammad and his family, grant me good health and recovery from my ailment.” Then sit straight, collect the wheat around you and say what you just said and distribute it among the destitute a handful for each one and say what you just said (above supplication).’ “Dawud has said, ‘I followed his instruction and it was like I was freed from a rope with which I was tied up. Many people tried it and benefited thereby.’”
