Al-Dhulfiqar:The Sword of RasulAllah(sawas)

Here are two amazing Saheeh/Hasan Hadeeth of Aimmah(as) regarding the Sword of RasulAllah(sawas) "Al-Dhulfiqar"

Hadeeth #1:

حدثنا محمد بن موسى بن المتوكل (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا محمد ابن يحيى العطار، قال: حدثني محمد بن عيسى بن عبيد، عن أحمد بن عبد الله، قال: سألت أبا الحسن علي بن موسى الرضا (عليه السلام) عن ذي الفقار سيف رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله)، من أين هو؟ فقال: هبط به جبرئيل من السماء، وكانت حليته من فضة، وهو عندي 

Ahmad bin Abdullah said that I asked Imam Raza (as) regarding the Sword of Rasool Allah al-Dulfiqar, that where did the sword come from, Imam (as) said, Gibra'eel brought it from the heavens in a silver sheath and now it is with me.

Hadeeth #2:

5 - أحمد بن محمد ومحمد بن يحيى، عن محمد بن الحسن عن محمد بن عيسى، عن أحمد بن أبي عبدالله، عن أبي الحسن الرضا عليه السلام قال: سألته عن ذي الفقار سيف رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله من أين هو؟ قال: هبط به جبرئيل عليه السلام من السماء وكانت حليته من فضة وهو عندي

Ahmad ibn Muhammad and Muhammad ibn Yahya have narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Hassan from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah who has said the following:

“I asked abu al-Hassan al-Rida(as),about al-Dhul faqar (the sword of the Messenger of Allah) wherefrom it was. The Imam said, ‘Jibril (Gabriel) came down with it from the heavens. It was decorated with gold and it is with me now.’”

Hadeeth #3:

حدثنا أحمد بن زياد بن جعفر الهمداني رضى الله عنه ( ثقة ) قال : حدثنا علي ابن ابراهيم بن هاشم (ثقة) عن أبيه (حسن البعض روايته وصححها البعض ) عن أحمد بن محمد بن أبى نصر البزنطي (ثقة) ومحمد بن أبى عمير (ثقة) جميعاً عن أبان بن عثمان (ثقة) عن أبى عبد الله عليه السلام قال : لما كان يوم أحد انهزم أصحاب رسول الله حتى لم يبق معه إلا علي بن أبي طالب عليه السلام وأبو دجانة سماك بن خرشة ، فقال له النبي صلى الله عليه وآله يا أبا دجانة ، أما ترى قومك ، قال بلي قال : إلحق بقومك ، قال : ما على هذا بايعت الله ورسوله ، قال : أنت في حل قال : والله لا تتحدث قريش بأنى خذلتك وفررت حتى أذوق ما تذوق فجزاه النبي خيراً ، وكان علي عليه السلام كلما حملت طائفة على رسول الله استقبلهم وردهم حتى أكثر فيهم القتل والجراحات حتى انكسر سيفه فجاء الى النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم فقال يارسول الله ان الرجل يقاتل بسلاحه وقد انكسر سيفي فاعطاه عليه السلام سيفه ذالفقار ، فما زال يدفع به عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله حتى أثر وانكسر فنزل عليه جبرئيل وقال : يا محمد ، ان هذه لهي المواسات من علي لك ، فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وآله انه مني وأنا منه ، فقال جبرئيل وأنا منكما . وسمعوا دوياً من السماء لا سيف إلا ذو الفقار ولا فتى إلا على.

Narrated from Ahmed Ibn Ziad Ibn Jafar Al-Hamadani (ra),narrated Ali ibn Ibrahim Ibn Hashim narrated his father from Ahmed Ibn Mohammed Ibn Abi Nasr and Mohammed Ibn Umair both of them from Abaan Ibn Uthman from Abi Abdilleh(as)he said:

When the Companions retreated away from the Prophet(Sawas) on the day of Uhud nobody was left with him but Ali Ibn Abi Taleb(as) and Abu Dujanah his name is Simak ibn Kharshah. So the Prophet told him( Abu Dujanah), "Haven't you seen your people.” He said, Yes!. He(Prophet) said, “ go follow them .” He (Abu Dujanah) said,”This is not what I gave allegiance about to Allah and his Messenger.”  The Prophet said, “You are free of your allegiance.” He said, “No by Allah Quraish will never talk about me letting you down or running until I taste what you taste.”  So the Prophet thanked him. And there was Ali(as) defending off different groups which were trying to hurt the prophet(sawas) and he managed to push them away and he killed and injured many of them. When the fighting got heavier his(Ali) sword was broken so he went back to the messenger and said,”A man fights with his sword but mine was broken so the prophet gave him(Ali) his sword Dhulfiqar. So he kept on defending.. Then Jibreel(as) came down and told the Messenger of Allah, "Oh Mohammed this is the true consolation for Ali”. So the Prophet said, "He is from me and I am from him". So Jibreel said, "And I am from both of you." Then they heard a voice from the sky saying, "There is no sword but Dhulfiqar and There is no Conqueror but Ali(as) (La Saif Illa Zulfiqar La Fata Illa Ali )".
