Holy Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) Prophecy of his Wali (Successor) after his Death

Here are the Hadiths were word "Wali" is use for "Successor". First of all we will show you the hadith which prove that  “wali”  mean “successor”. 

Hadeeth 01:

Al-Bukhari records in his Sahih, vol. 3, p. 1126, Number 2927:

فقال أبو بكر أنا ولي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقبضها أبو بكر فعمل فيها بما عمل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم والله يعلم إنه فيها لصادق بار راشد تابع للحق ثم توفي الله أبا بكر فكنت أنا ولي أبي بكر فقبضتها

In the above hadith, we see Abubakr calling himself the Wali of the Prophet Muhammad, and Umar calling himself the Wali of Abubakr.

This is how the Salafi translator of Sahih al-Bukhari, Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan, has translated the above hadith:

'Abu Bakr said, 'I am THE SUCCESSOR of Allah's Apostle so, Abu Bakr took over that property and managed it in the same way as Allah's Apostle used to do, and Allah knows that he was true, pious and rightly-guided, and he was a follower of what was right. Then Allah took Abu Bakr unto Him and I became Abu Bakr's SUCCESSOR, and I kept that property in my possession.

Hadeeth 02:

Imam Muslim also records in his Sahih, vol. 3, p. 1376:

فلما توفي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال أبو بكر أنا ولي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فجتئما تطلب ميراثك من ابن أخيك ويطلب هذا ميراث امرأته من أبيها فقال أبو بكر قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ( ما نورث ما تركنا صدقة ) فرأيتماه كاذبا آثما غادرا خائنا والله يعلم إنه لصادق بار راشد تابع للحق ثم توفي أبو بكر وأنا ولي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وولي أبا بكر فرأيتماني كاذبا آثما غادرا خائنا والله يعلم إني بار راشد تابع للحق فوليتها ثم جئتني

This is what is found in the English translation:

When the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) passed away, Abu Bakr said: "I am the SUCCESSOR of the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him)." Both of you came to demand your shares from the property (left behind by the Messenger of Allah). (Referring to Hadrat 'Abbas), he said: You demanded your share from the property of your nephew, and he (referring to 'Ali) demanded a share on behalf of his wife from the property of her father. Abu Bakr (Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) had said: "We do not have any heirs; what we leave behind is (to be given in) charity." So both of you thought him to be A LIAR, SINFUL, TREACHEROUS AND DISHONEST. And Allah knows that he was true, virtuous, well-guided and a follower of truth. When Abu Bakr passed away and (I have become) the SUCCESSOR of the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) and Abu Bakr (Allah be pleased with him), you thought me to be a liar, sinful, treacherous and dishonest. And Allah knows that I am true, virtuous, well-guided and a follower of truth. I became the guardian of this property.

The Following are the Hadiths which Proves that Imam Ali (عليه السلام) is the real Successor Of Holy Prophet(صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) 

Hadeeth 01:

The ace Salafi hadithist, Shaykh al-Albani, in his Zilal al-Jannah, vol. 2, p. 338, Number 1189, also records the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him and his family, saying to Imam Ali (as):

أنت وليي في كل مؤمن بعدي

You are my Wali over EVERY believer after my death.

Grading:

1. Al-Albani says:

الحديث وأخرجه الحاكم بطوله من طريق أحمد ثم قال صحيح الإسناد ووافقه الذهبي

       The hadith is part of a longer one recorded by al-Hakim. Al-Hakim says “Its chain is                     Sahih” and al-Dhahabi agrees with him.

Hadeeth 02:

Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal records in his al-Musnad 5/25 (ed. Ahmad Muhammad Shakir)  records the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him and his family, saying to Imam Ali (as):

أنت وليي في كل مؤمن بعدي

You are my Wali over EVERY believer after my death.

Hadeeth 03:

Imam al-Tirmidhi, in his Sunan, with hadith gradings by al-Albani, vol. 5, p. 632, Number 3712 

إن عليا مني وأنا منه وهو ولي كل مؤمن بعدي

Verily, Ali is from me and I AM FROM HIM, and HE IS THE WALI OF ALL BELIEVERS AFTER MY DEATH.

Hadeeth 04:

The Sunni hadithists, al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani, also records in his al-Isabah fi Tamyiz al-Sahabah, vol. 4, p. 569:

وأخرج الترمذي بإسناد قوي عن عمران بن حصين في قصة قال فيها قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ما تريدون من علي إن عليا مني وأنا من علي وهو ولي كل مؤمن بعدي

Al-Tirmidhi recorded WITH A STRONG CHAIN that Imran ibn Hasin narrated as part of a longer narrative: Allah’s Apostle, peace be upon him, said: “What do you want from Ali. Verily, Ali is from me, and I am from Ali, and he is the Wali of ALL believers after my death.”

Hadeeth 05:

Al-Hakim also records in his al-Mustadrak, vol. 3, p. 143, Number 4652 :

قال ابن عباس و قال له رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم أنت ولي كل مؤمن بعدي و مؤمنة

Ibn Abbas said: Allah’s Apostle, peace be upon him, said to him (i.e. Ali): “You are the Wali of ALL male and female believers AFTER MY DEATH.”

1. Al-Hakim says:  This hadith has a Sahih chain. (هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد)
2. Al-Dhahabi also states: Sahih (صحيح)

Hadeeth 06:

Shaykh al-Albani also records in his Silsilah al-Ahadith al-Sahihah, vol. 5, p. 262, that the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family, said to the Sahabah:

لا تقع في علي فإنه مني وأنا منه وهو وليكم بعدي وإنه مني وأنا منه وهو وليكم بعدي

Do not complain about Ali, BECAUSE he is from me and I am from him, AND HE IS YOUR WALI AFTER MY DEATH. Verily, he is from me and I am from him, AND HE IS YOUR WALI AFTER MY DEATH.

Hadeeth 06:

Al-Albani, in  Zilal al-Jannah, vol. 2, p. 337, Number 1188 , records that the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him and his family, said to Imam Ali (as):

أنت مني بمنزلة هارون من موسى إلا أنك لست نبيا إنه لا ينبغي أن أذهب إلا وأنت 

خليفتي في كل مؤمن من بعدي

You are to me as Harun was to Musa EXCEPT THAT YOU ARE NOT A PROPHET. It is not right for me to go (i.e. die) EXCEPT having chosen you AS MY KHALIFAH (SUCCESSOR) OVER EVERY BELIEVER AFTER MY DEATH.
