Hadeeth No #1:

Ali ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Abd Allah has narrated from certain person of our people (that I think is al-Sayyari) from Ali ibn Asbat who has said the following:

“In one of the meetings of abu al-Hassan Musa, recipient of divine supreme covenant, with al-Mahdi (one of ‘Abbassid
ruler) the Imam found him paying reparations (for the damages caused to people). The Imam said, ‘O Amir al-Mu’minin, what has happened to the reparations due to us?’ He then asked, ‘What damage is caused to you, O abu al-Hassan, recipient of divine supreme covenant?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Allah, the Holy, the Most High, granted victory to His Holy Prophet, recipient of divine supreme covenant, and the land of Fadak and its surrounding areas came under his control without any armed struggle. Allah sent a message to His Holy Prophet, recipient of divine supreme covenant. It said, “Give the relatives their rights.” The Messenger of Allah did not know who they were. He turned to Jibril to find out and Jibril turned to his Lord for the answer. Allah then sent revelation to him to give possession of Fadak to Fatimah, recipient of divine supreme covenant. Thereupon, the Messenger of Allah called Fatimah, recipient of divine supreme covenant, and said to her. “O Fatimah, Allah has commanded me to give possession of Fadak to you.” She then said, “O Messenger of Allah, I have accepted the offer from Allah and from you.” Thereafter her representatives lived there during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah. When abu Bakr took control he expelled her representatives therefrom. She went to abu Bakr and asked him to reverse his decision and return Fadak to her but he said to Fatimah, recipient of divine supreme covenant, “Bring to me a black or white person to testify that Fadak belonged to you.” Fatimah, recipient of divine supreme covenant, brought Amir al-Mu’minin Ali, recipient of divine supreme covenant, and ’Umm Ayman who both testified in favor of Fatimah, recipient of divine supreme covenant. He then wrote, “Fatimah must not be disturbed in the matters of Fadak.” Fatimah, recipient of divine supreme covenant, then left with the document. On the way ‘Umar came from the opposite direction and asked, “What is it in your hand, O daughter of Muhammad?” Fatimah, recipient of divine supreme covenant, said, “It is a document that ibn abu Quhafa has written for me.” He said, “Show it to me.” Fatimah, recipient of divine supreme covenant, refused to hand it over to him but he snatched it away from her hand and read it. He then spit on it wiped out its writing and tore it into pieces. He said, “This was not captured by forces of the camels and horses of your father so that you can tie the rope around our necks.’” “Al-Mahdi said, ‘O abu al-Hassan define for me the boundaries of Fadak.’ The Imam said, ‘On one side it borders the mountain of ’Uhud. On the other side is ‘Arish Misr. Also it borders Sayf al-Bahr and on one of it’s sides is Dawmat al- Jandal.’ Then he asked the Imam, ‘All of it?’ He said, ‘Yes, O Amir al-Mu’minin, this is all that came to the Messenger of Allah without the use of the forces of the camels and horses.’ “He said, ‘This is a large area but I will look into it.’”

Hadeeth No #2: Fatimah's (AS) elegy on Fadak

He said: Abu Bakr Muhammad b. Umar al-Je'abi reported to me from Abu Abdillah Ja'far b. Muhammad b. Ja'far al-Hasani, who reported from Isa b. Mehran, from Yunus, from Abdullah b. Muhammad b. Sulaiman al-Hashemi, from his father, from his grandfather, from Zainab b. Ali b. Abi Talib (AS) that she said:

"When the opinion of Abu Bakr and his supporters became unanimous about depriving Fatimah, peace be upon her, from Fadak, and she lost all hope about his reconsideration, she came to her father's grave, threw herself upon it, and grievously complained about the way the {people} treated her. And she wept, till the earth on the grave became wet with her tears, and then she said in her elegy:

"There have been after you news and incidents were you to witness them, you would have disapproved them; We have missed you, the way a parched land misses the rainfall, your people are in total disarray, see how they have reneged. Jibraeel used to endear us with the verses (of Qur'an), but after you have hid from us, all good is also concealed;

You were the moon, from whose light people benefited, and upon you was revealed the books - from the Lord Almighty. Men have attacked us and humiliated us, after the Prophet, and all wealth has been usurped;
The perpetrator of injustices to us will know his fate
on the day of Judgement, where he will finally land. We have come across things which no one before us, neither from Arabs nor from the Ajam have suffered;

So, we shall continue weeping over you as long as we live, and as long as we have eyes which well up with flowing tears."

3-64 Abul Abbas Muhammad ibn Ibrahim ibn Ishaq al-Taleqani - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Muhammad ibn Jarir al-Tabary quoted Abu Salih al-Kanani, on the authority of Yahya ibn Abdul Hamid al-Himmani, on the authority of Sharik that Hosham ibn Mu’az said that:

"Once he was accompanying the Caliph Umar ibn Abdul-Aziz on a journey to Medina. Then it was announced that whoever has been oppressed can come to see the Caliph. Muhammad ibn Ali al-Baqir (MGB) went there. The Caliph was told by his gate-keeper Mozahim that Muhammad ibn Ali al-Baqir (MGB) has come to see him. Umar ibn Abdul-Aziz said, “O Mozahim. Please let him in.” Mozahim asked the Imam to enter while Umar was wiping off his tears. Muhammad ibn Ali al-Baqir (MGB) asked Umar, “O Umar! Why are you crying?”

Then Hosham (ibn Ma’az) said, “O grandson of the Prophet of God! Such and such are the reasons why he is crying.”

Then Muhammad ibn Ali al-Baqir (MGB) said, “O Umar! Indeed this world is only like a shop in a supermarket. Some people take things from it due to which they suffer a loss. Others take things from it from which they benefit. There are many people who engage themselves in things similar to what we engage in until their time of death arrived and they suffered from a great loss. They left this world in a state of being sorry since they had not hesitated to do bad deeds and had not taken anything for their Hereafter. Those who would not be grateful divided up all the inheritance which they had left behind in this world, but they had to go to Him who would not accept any excuses! It would be advisable to review the affairs of this world and avoid doing wicked deeds. Fear God and be determined to do two things. First try to take some good deeds with you which would be with you when you face your Lord. Secondly, abstain from evil deeds and do not take with you something which will cause you to be sorry when you face your Lord. O Umar! Fear God the Honorable the Exalted! Open the door and raise the curtain (to let the people in to see you). Assist the oppressed ones and defeat the oppressors.”

Then the Imam (MGB) added, “There are three things which would perfect one’s belief in God.”

Once Umar heard this, he sat down on his knees and asked, “O Member of the Holy Household of the Prophet! What are they?”

The Imam (MGB) said, “Yes, Umar! That is that once you are pleased, your pleasure doesn’t cause you to engage in wrongful deeds. Also once you are angry, your anger would not lead you to do what is not rightful, and once you are powerful, you do not devour what is not yours.”

Then Umar asked for ink and a quill and wrote, ‘In the Name of God the Compassionate the Merciful. I - Muhammad ibn Abdul-Aziz - hereby return the tract of land called Fadak which belongs to Muhammad ibn Ali al-Baqir (MGB).’”

Hadeeth No #4: Imam Ali's own words on Fadak in Nahjul Balagha

Letter 45 - Verily, under the sky we had only Fadak as our personal property but we were deprived of it, it tempted them, they took it by force and we had to bear the wrench patiently and cheerfully, the best judge is the Lord Almighty.

1- My father (ra) said: Told us Ali b. Ibrahim, from his father, from ibn abi Umair, from someone* who reported it from Imam al Sadiq (as):

When Abu Bakr denied fadak to Fatima (as) and drove out her agent, Imam Ali (as) went to the mosque, while abu bakr was seated (in the mosque) and around him were the muhajirs and ansar. So Ali (as) said: Abu Bakr! Why have you denied Fatima (as) what was ordained for her by the Prophet (pbuh) and her agent (i.e. worker/servant) has been on it for years." So Abu Bakr answered: "It is faiy (prize/booty) for the Muslim public, so if you bring witnesses (for your claim) then the decision would be taken back, otherwise there would be no right for her on it." Imam Ali (as) said:"Abu Bakr, you judge for us in contrast to how you judge for the Muslim public in general?" Abu Bakr said: "No." Imam Ali (as) said: "Tell me, if something was in the possession of the Muslim public, and I laid a claim on it, who would you ask for proof?" Abu Bakr said: "I'd ask you." Ali (as) said: "So when something (i.e. Fadak) was in my possession, then the Muslim public (supposedly) laid claim on it, you are now asking me instead to bring proof?" So Abu Bakr went speechless. So Umar interjected: "This (Fadak) is faiy for the Muslim public and we are not from your opponents on something." So Ali (as) said to Abu Bakr: "Abu Bakr, have you read the Qur'an?" Abu Bakr replied: "Of course." Imam Ali (as) said: "So what do you say about the verse 'O Ahlulbayt! Indeed Allah (swt) wishes to drive away the impurity from you and thoroughly purify you', was it revealed for us or for other than us?" Abu Bakr said: "For you people." Imam Ali (as) said: "So tell me, if two witnesses from the Muslim public testified against Fatima (as) on charges of lewdness, what would you do?" Abu Bakr said: "I would establish hadd (Islamic punishment) on her, as I would on (any other) Muslim women." Imam Ali (as) said: "You would then be among the kuffar (disbelievers) according to Allah (swt)." Abu Bakr said: "Why?" Imam Ali (as) said: "Because you would then have rejected the testimony of Allah (swt) and accepted the testimony of the other, because Allah (swt) has testified by the taharah (purity) of Fatima (in ayat al tatheer, 33:33), so when you reject the testimony of Allah (swt) and accept the testimony of the other, you are among the kuffar according to Allah (swt)." So the people started crying and dispersed while murmuring. So when Abu Bakr returned to his home, he called for Umar and said: "Woe on you ibn al Khattab! Did not you see Ali and what he did with us? By Allah, if another sitting (session) goes like the last session, then this affair (of our caliphate) would be corrupted for us and nothing would remain for us as long as he (Ali) is alive." Umar said: "No one is up to it except for Khalid b. Walid." So they called for him. So Abu Bakr said to him: "We intend to entrust you with a huge issue." Khalid replied: "Entrust me with whatever you wish, even if it is the murder of Ali." So Abu Bakr said: "It actually is the murder of Ali, so stand next to him (during jam'a prayers), then when I say the salam then strike off his neck." So Asma b. Umais, the mother of Muhammad b. abi Bakr, called for her maid and ordered her: "Go to Fatima and convey to her my salam, so when you enter the door send her my message 'the chiefs are conspiring to kill you, so escape. I am one of your well-wishers. (Al Qur'an 28:20)', so if it is understood (then fine) otherwise repeat it once more." So she went, then entered and said that "My mistress says 'O daughter of the Prophet (pbuh)! How are you?" then she recited the verse 'the chiefs are conspiring to kill you, so escape. I am one of your well-wishers. (Al Qur'an 28:20)', then when she intended to leave, she recited it (again. So Imam Ali (as) said to her: "Convey to your mistress salam from me, and my message to her that Allah (swt) would act as obstruction between them and what they intend, if Allah (swt) wills." Then Khalid took up his place next to Ali (as), so when Abu Bakr intended to recite the salam he did not do so, but said "Khalid do not do what I ordered you to do" then recited the salam. So Ali (as) said (to Khalid): "What is this issue which you were ordered by, then forbidden before saying of salam?" Khalid said: "I was ordered to strike off your neck after taslim." So Ali (as) asked: "And you would have carried out the order?" Khalid said: "Yes definitely, if I had not been forbidden." So Imam Ali (as) stood up, grabbed Khalid's cloth and smashed him by it onto the wall and said to Umar: "O son of Sahhak! By Allah, if it had not been for the promise from the Prophet (pbuh) of Allah and the preceding writing from Allah (destiny), you would have definitely come to know who is weaker and who is short of numbers!"

Grading:Mursal But Saheeh due to Supportive Chains*

*Hadeeth Chain Analysis

Chain 1st:

Grading:Mursal

Chain 2nd:

Grading:Saheeh but Tareeq to this Book is Weak

Chain 3rd:

Grading:Mursal

So From Above three Chain we can Conclude that the Disconnected Narrator is "Hammad bin Uthmaan" who relate Similar Incident in Two books..Hence Hadeeth is No Doubt "Reliable and Saheeh"

Why Did Imam Ali(as) did not return Fadak to its true owner During his Caliphate!!

Hadeeth No #1:
32-31 Abu Ali Ahmad ibn Al-Hassan al-Qattan narrated that Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Sa’eed al-Hamadani quoted on the authority of Ali ibn Al-Hassan ibn Ali ibn Fadhdhal, on the authority of his father:

“I asked Abil Hassan Al-Reza (s), ‘Why did the Commander of the Faithful (Imam Ali) (s) not return Fadak to its true owner after he (s) took charge of the people?’[129] Al-Reza (s) said, ‘That is because the Honorable the Exalted God has granted us the Mastery. Therefore, no one but Him will seize our due rights from those who oppressed us. We are the Members of the Holy Household who rule over the people and judge about them, and seize back what is rightfully theirs from those who have oppressively captured their property. However, we (the Members of the Holy Household of the Prophet (s)) never seize back our own rights.”

Ahmed Ibn Ali Ibn Ibrahem Ibn Hisham from Ali Ibn Ibrahem from Ibrahem Ibn Hisham from Muahmmed Ibn Abi Umayr from Ibrahem Al-Karkhy said:

"Imam Sadiq  was asked for what reason did Imam Ali  leave Fadak when he took incharge of the people? Imam  said: He did this because he wanted to emulate the prophet  when he conquered makkah and Aqeel had sold his (the prophet) house. When The people had asked the prophet  won't you return back to your house? The prophet  said: And did Aqeel leave a house for us? We the Ahu Al-Bayt  dont return back anything that was taken away from us unjustly. Hence, for this reason Imam Ali  did not return Fadak."

Sheikh Sadooq View on Fadak:

The compiler of the book(Sheikh Sadooq) - may God be pleased with him - said, “’On the day of Qadir Khum, no excuse was left for anyone.’ This is what Fatimah, the Master of the Ladies (MGB), told the Helpers (Ansar) when the tract of land called Fadak was taken away from her. The Helpers (Ansar) replied, ‘O daughter of Muhammad! Had we heard this from you before our pledge of allegiance to Abu Bakr, we would have not pledged allegiance to anyone but Ali (MGB). She (MGB) said, ‘My father (MGB) left no excuse for anyone on the day of Qadir Khum.’”
