Who are Aale Muhammad, Itrah and Ahl al-Bayt (as)??
This is Fantastic hadeeth which answers most of the question raised by the opponent regarding Ahl al-bayt (as)

حدثنا أبي ره قال حدثنا سعد بن عبد الله عن أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى عن الحسن بن علي بن فضال عن علي بن أبي حمزة عن أبي بصير قال قلت للصادق جعفر بن محمد ع من آل محمد قال ذريته فقلت من أهل بيته قال الأئمة الأوصياء فقلت من عترته قال أصحاب العباء فقلت من أمته قال المؤمنون الذين صدقوا بما جاء من عند الله عز و جل المتمسكون [المستمسكون] بالثقلين الذين أمروا بالتمسك بهما كتاب الله و عترته أهل بيته الذين أذهب الله عنهم الرجس و طهرهم تطهيرا و هما الخليفتان على الأمة بعد رسول الله ص
“I said to Al-Saadiq, Ja`far bin Muhammad (عليه السلام): 'Who are the Aali Muhammad?' He (عليه السلام) said: 'His progeny.' So I said: 'Who are his Ahl Al-Bayt (عليه السلام)?' He (عليه السلام) said: 'The Trustee Imaams.' I said: 'Who are his `itrah?' He (عليه السلام) said: 'The people of the `Abaa’ (Cloak).' I said: 'Who are his ummah?' He (عليه السلام) said: 'The mu’mineen, those who are truthful (trust) in what has from from Allaah (عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ) and cling to the thaqalayn. Those who adhere to the commands that is in the book of Allaah and (from) his `itrah. The ahl al-bayt are those whom Allaah has removed Al-Rijs (i.e. doubt) from them and purified them thoroughly and they are the khaleefahs on this Ummah after the Messenger of Allaah(صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم).”

25 - حدثنا احمد بن زياد بن جعفر الهمداني قال: حدثنا على بن ابراهيم بن هاشم عن أبيه عن محمد بن أبي عمير عن غياث بن إبراهيم عن الصادق جعفر بن محمد عن أبيه محمد بن على عن أبيه على بن الحسين عن أبيه الحسين بن على عليه السلام قال: سئل أمير المؤمنين عليه السلام عن معنى قول رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله انى مخلف فيكم الثقلين كتاب الله وعترتي من العتره؟ فقال: انا والحسن والحسين والائمه التسعه من ولد الحسين تاسعهم مهديهم وقائمهم لا يفارقون كتاب الله ولا يفارقهم حتى يردوا على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله حوضه
Ahmad ibn Ziyad ibn Ja’far al-Hamadani - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Ali ibn Ibrahim ibn Hashem quoted on the authority of his father, on the authority of Muhammad ibn Abi Omayr, on the authority of Ghiyath ibn Ibrahim, on the authority of As-Sadiq Ja’far ibn Muhammad (s), on the authority of his father Muhammad ibn Ali (s), on the authority of his father Ali ibn Al-Hussein (s), on the authority of his father Al-Hussein ibn Ali (s) that the Commander of the Faithful (s) was questioned about the meaning of what God’s Prophet (s) said,
“I will leave behind two heavy things with you: God’s Book and my ‘Itra[67].”
He (s) was asked, “What does “my ‘Itra” mean?”
He (s) replied, “It is I, Al-Hassan, Al-Hussein and the other nine Divine Leaders from the descendants of Al-Hussein. The ninth of them is their Al-Mahdi (Divinely Guided One) who is their Riser. They will not separate themselves from God’s Book and God’s Book will not separate from them until they meet God’s Prophet (s) at his Pool.”
