Mohammad bin Ahmed bin Yahya from Mohammad bin Hussein from Hujjal from Abdus Samad bin Basher from Hassan ul Jamal who said:
I was accompanying Abu Adullah(as) from Madina to Mecca and when we reached Masjid-e-Ghadeer and Imam looked at it, he said, "This is the foothold of holy prophet (sawas) where he had said "Whosoever I am Master of, Ali is also his Master"and then he looked at one end and said,"That is where Abu fulan(Abu bakar) and fulan(Umar) and Salam freed slave of Abu Hudaifa and Abu Ubaida bin Jarah after seeing holy prophet raising Ali, told each other that "look at his eyes, as if he is mujnoon(mad)" Jibrail then descended and revealed this Verse, "And those who disbelieve would almost smite you with their eyes when they hear the reminder, and they say: Most surely he is mad. And it is Naught but a reminder to the nations."(68:51,52)

Ali ibn Ibrahim from his father from Ibn Abu 'Umayr from 'Umar ibn Udhayna from Zurara and Fudayl ibn Yasar and Bukayr ibn A'yan and Muhammad ibn Muslim and Burayd ibn Mu‘awiya and abu a1-Jarud, all have said that abu Ja'far, recipient of divine supreme covenant, has said the following:
“Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Gracious, commanded His Messenger to declare the Leadership with Divine Authority of Ali, recipient of divine supreme covenant, and sent down to him this: ‘Only Allah, His Messenger, and (also) the true believers who are steadfast in prayer and pay alms, while they kneel during prayer (in Ruku’), are your guardians (with Divine Authority).’ (5:55) He made obedience to those in authority obligatory. The people did not know who they were. Allah commanded Muhammad, recipient of divine supreme covenant, to interpret (and explain) the ‘Authority’ for them as he had interpreted (and explained) Prayer, Zakat , Fasting and Hajj. When this command (to obey those who possess Divine Authority) came to him from Allah, the Messenger of Allah felt pressured (and afraid of people’s abandoning their religion). He prayed to Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Gracious, about it and Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Gracious, revealed to him this: ‘O Messenger, preach what is revealed to you from your Lord. If you do not preach, it will be as though you have not conveyed My message. Allah protects you from men. He does not guide the unbelieving people.’ (5:67) He executed the command of Allah, Most Exalted is Whose mention, and declared that Ali, recipient of divine supreme covenant, had received Divine Authority for leadership over His creatures. He made this declaration on the day of Ghadir-e Khumm (18th of Dhu al-Hajja). After the prayer in congregation he convened the command and asked people present to bear testimony and inform those who were absent.
“‘Umar ibn ’Udhayna has said, ‘All, except abu al-Jarud, have narrated this Hadith.’
“Abu Ja‘far, recipient of divine supreme covenant, said: ‘One commandment would come after the other and the commandment about Leadership and Guardianship with Divine Authority was the last of such commandments. Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Gracious, then sent down this: ‘On this day I have perfected your religion, completed My favors to you, and chosen Islam as your religion. . . .’ (5:3) Abu Ja‘far, recipient of divine supreme covenant, said, ‘Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Gracious, said, ‘I will not send down any other commandments thereafter. I have completed for you the commandments.’”

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from ibn Mahbub from Hisham ibn Salim from Yazid al-Kunasiyy who has said the following.
"I asked abu Ja‘far (as)....."May Allah take my soul in service for your cause, did Ali (as) possess Divine authority from Allah and His Messenger over this nation (Muslims) during the life time of the Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Yes, but he kept silent and did not speak along with the Messenger of Allah. At that time, during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah, obedience was of the rights of the Messenger of Allah over the ’Umma (nation) and over Ali (as). Obedience to the authority of Allah and the Messenger of Allah over the people as a whole was obligatory to Ali (as) after the death of the Messenger of Allah. Ali (as) was a very wise and knowledgeable person."

IMAM ALI'S APPOINTMENT OF HIS SON IMAM HASAN(as) AS THE IMAM AND HIS SUCCESSOR
This is a will of a creature of Allah, Ali son of Abu Taalib (a). It instructs (his heirs) how to spend his property only to gain the Blessings of Allah so that Allah may grant him peace and allow him to enter His Paradise. After me my son Hasan (a) will be the administrator, executor and testator of my property. He can spend it according to the laws of Islam in helping the poor, destitute and the needy in accordance with the canons ordained by Allah. If anything happens to Hasan (a) and Husayn (a) is alive after him, then he will be the next executor and testator and should act according to the spirit of the instructions given herein. Verily, for the two sons of Fatima (a), Hasan and Husayn (a), the share out of my property is equal to the shares of my other sons (being Imams they should not be barred from taking their share and at the same time their share cannot be more on account of their being administrators and executors). I have appointed sons of Fatima (a) executors to please Allah and out of respect and love that I bear towards the Holy Prophet (a) and his daughter (peace of Allah be upon them and their descendants).

IMAM HUSSAIN'S (as) APPOINTMENT OF HIS SON ALI BIN HUSSAIN (as) AS THE IMAM AND HIS SUCCESSOR

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Mahbub from Ali
ibn Ri’ab from abu ‘Ubayda and Zurara from abu Ja'far (a.s.) who has said the following."When al-Husayn (a.s.) was martyred, Muhammad ibn al-Hanafiya asked Ali ibn al-Husayn(a.s.) for a private meeting. In the meeting he said, "O son of my brother, you know that the Messenger of Allah (s.a) delivered the task of al-Wasiyya, (the executor-ship of the will) and al-Imamat, (Leadership with Divine Authority) thereafter it was delivered to al-Hassan (a.s.) and then to al-Husayn (a.s.). Your father, may Allah be pleased with him has been murdered, may Allah grant blessing up on his soul, and he did make any will. I am your uncle and equal in status to your father and I am a son of Ali (a.s.). Because of being older in age I am more deserving of the the position of Imamat considering that you are younger than me. Therefore, you should not dispute with me about al-Wasiyya, the will and Imamat, leadership and should argue with me about it." Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.) said, "O uncle, be pious before Allah and do not claim in what you have no right. I advise not to be of the ignorant people. In fact, my father (Hussain) (a.s.), O my uncle, appointed me as the executor of his will before his leaving for Iraq. He made such covenant with me just an hour before his becoming a martyr. This is the Armament of the Messenger of Allah with me. You then should not dislocate them. I am afraid for you of a shorter life and quandary of conditions. Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most gracious, has placed al-Wasiyya, and Imamat in the descendants of al-Husayn (a.s.). If you would like to know it we can go near the Blackstone and fro judgment and ask it about the issue." Abu Ja'far (a.s.) has said that the issue came up between them in Makka and they went near the Blackstone. Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.) said to Muhammad al-Hanafiya, "You begin first and pray to Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most gracious, and ask Him to make the Blackstone speak to you and then ask your question." Muhammad then pleaded in his prayer and asked Allah and then ask the Blackstone about the disputed issue but there was no answer. Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.) said, "O uncle, had you been the Executor of the will and the Imam it would have answered your question. Muhammad then said, "Now you pray to Allah, O son of my brother and ask your question. Alin ibn al-Husayn (a.s.) prayed to Allah for what he wanted then addressing the Blackstone said, "I ask you for the sake of the One Who placed the covenant of the prophets in you, as well as the covenant of the executors of the will and the covenant of all the peole. You must tell us who the Wasiyy and Imam after al-Husayn (a.s.)?" The narrator has said that the Blackstone began to shake so much that it almost camme out of its place. Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most gracious, then made it to speak in clear Arabic language and said, "O Lord, al-Wasiyya and Imamat after al-Husayn (a.s.) ibn Ali is for Ali ibn al-Husayn ibn Ali aibn abu Talib and ibn Fatima (a.s.) daughter of the the Messenger of Allah." The narrator has said that Muhammad Ali (a.s.) returned back and he acknowledged Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.) to be his Wali (Leadership with Divine Authority)."

IMAM ALI BIN HUSSAIN'S APPOINTMENT OF HIS SON MUHAMMAD IBN ALI AL-BAQIR(as) AS THE IMAM AND HIS SUCCESSOR
Muhammad ibn al-Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from Abdullah bin Ja'far Hameeri, who narrated from Yaqub ibn Yazid from Muhammad ibn Abi Amir, from Aban ibn 'Uthman, from Imam Jafer Sadiq (pbuh) who narrates that one day Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) said to Jabir bin Abdullah Ansari "you will stay alive until you meet my son Mohammad bin Ali bin Hosein bin Ali bin Abi Talib (pbuh)who is mentioned in the Torah as baqir. Give him my salutation (salam) when you meet him". One day when Jabir visited Imam Zain-ul-Abideen (pbuh), he saw the young boy sitting next to the Imam (pbuh). He addressed the young boy and asked him to come closer and show his back. Then he proclaimed that by God, that young boy had the features and traits of the Prophet Mohammad (pbuh). Then he asked Imam Sajjad (pbuh) who the young boy was and Imam (pbuh) replied that he was his son and the successor to the Imamate and his name was Mohammad baqir (pbuh). Hearing this, Jabir rose up and kissed the young Imam and said "Son of Prophet (pbuh), may I be taken ransom for you, accept the salutation (salam) of Prophet (pbuh). He asked me to convey it to you". Imam Jafer Sadiq (pbuh) states that his father burst into tears on hearing this and said "Jabir my salutation to my grand father until this sky and earth survives. You conveyed the salam of my grandfather to me so I convey my salam to you as well"

"Mansur ibn Hazim said to him, ‘May Allah take my soul in service for your cause, the (human) souls pass through mornings and evenings if that (death for you) comes then who (will be the Imam)?" Abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) then said, "If that happens then he is your companion." He tapped the right shoulder of abu al-Hassan with his hand, as I know. He was five (feet tall or years old) at that time and ‘Abdallah ibn Ja‘far was also present with us."

6 - Narrated to us Ahmad bin Ziyad bin Ja’far Hamadani: Narrated to us Ali bin Ibrahim from his father from Abdus Salam bin Salih Harawi that: I heard Dibil bin Ali Khuzai say:
I recited my long poem to my master, Ali Ibne Musa ar-Reza, the beginning of which is:
Schools of verses empty of recitations
And the House of revelation horrendously empty.
When I reached to my verse:
The rise of an Imam who will definitely rise
And stand by the name of Allah and His blessings
He will make distinction between all rights and wrongs
And will proffer requital for charities and malevolence.
Imam Reza (a.s.) cried very profusely and then raised his head and said to me, “O Khuzai, the Blessed Spirit has spoken on your tongue in these two verses. Do you know who this Imam is and when he will rise?” I said, “No, my master, except I have heard that an Imam of yours will rise and clean the earth from mischief and will fill up the earth with equity as it will be full of oppression.” He said, “O Dibil, the Imam after me is my son, Muhammad; after Muhammad his son, Ali; after Ali his son Hasan; and after Hasan his son, al- Hujja al-Qaim, the Awaited during his occultation, the one obeyed in his time of appearance. Even if not more than one day should remain from the world, Allah will prolong that day so much that he will rise and fill the world with equity just as it will be full of injustice. As for when it will happen, that is to describe its time, and my father has narrated to me through his forefathers through Amirul Momineen (a.s.) that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.s.) was asked, ‘O Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.s.), when is the Qaim from your progeny going to rise?’ He said, ‘His example is like the example of the Hour:
None but He shall manifest it at its time. It will be momentous in the heavens and the earth. It will not come on you but suddenly.’”

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Safwan ibn
Yahya who has said the following. "Once I said to Ar-Reza (a.s.), ‘Before Allah would grant you the blessed birth of abu Ja‘far we would ask you the question and you would say that Allah will soon grant you a son. Allah, now, has blessed you with such a favor and may He make him to be the delight for your heart. We wish not to experience a single day without you but, Allah forbid, if something would happen to you from who must we seek guidance?" He pointed with his hand to abu Ja‘far (a.s.) and he was standing before him. I then said, "May
Allah take my soul in service for your cause, he is only a child of three years old." He said,"That does not matter in his case at all. Jesus rose with Divine authority when he three years old only."

When he was about to be taken to al-Mu‘tasam (179/795 —became caliph 218/833 — 227/841), for the second time I went to him and said, "May Allah take my souls in service for your cause. He then turned to me and said, "This time you should be afraid about my life. The task (Leadership with Divine Authority) after me will go to my son Ali (a.s.)."
